Maybe in a way i do expect ppl to understand met too...
the differences between me and the rest of the class is just seemingly widening as time passes...
maybe that's the reason behind my intensive weird emotional swings
Ironically, in an attempt to take up a subject which might help me learn to learn to communicate better, i have heighten my weakness in this area of expressing myself.
Funny how in trying to find one's self identity, one easily loses one's sane state of mind.

sometimes i do wonder who i should turn to to just rant; as in someone real, dun care msn or sms, just someone tt'd respond. maybe that's the only weakness of a blog? hmmmm... getting emo recently. no idea why or how but just like tt lor... guess is the incline to contemplate too much? however bet it'd be better for me to rant on here than not to do so at all. but guess it's just hard not knowing who'd be reading yeah? haiz... the irony of it all- a blog unable to fulfil its purpose to allow one to express one's feelings... hmmm that goes to show how technology will never ever replace a good friend, a buddy to talk to and speak to. maybe i'm seriously ~~deprived~~ disillusioned. hais... so what is the purpose of these? "purposiveness without a purpose" whatever... couldn't bother more... want it to be over and done with. cleared and settled. maybe that be the end of the sorrows and emo-ness...
Forgive me of thy complaints. just attempting to find an avenue for thy thoughts.

seriously seriously seriously...
[spoken in various tones]
wasn't exactly looking forward today especially with the extra lessons and all. til things take a turn; both lit teachers not in school, implying no H1 classes at all. with that news the spirits of everyone uplifted and the general mood was generally better. chem paper 1 and 3 came back; not too bad results, counting the fact that i didn't study extensively. then GP finished up on movie , got my movie-intrigued mind to contemplate on certain issues. then after sch attended the short film by Tan Pin Pin. learn quite abit about film and things. hahas. with that it concluded a enjoyable day.

love school days like that. enjoy studying and gaining knowledge without having to resort to the stress and pressures of exams, tests and what-nots. hahas.

totally slacking. where's the long lost mood to study? where's the pressure and stress to get all As? hmmmm i wonder...

a gentle voice reminds me of the spirit of excellence.

decided to post on somethings i learned so far...

Art refers to a diverse range of human activities, creations, and expressions that are appealing or attractive to the senses or have some significance to the mind of an individual.

One of the functions of art is 'to present what the narrow and desperately perspectives of real life exclude.' C.S. Lewis

interesting to know the various philosophy of art. especially with the evolving art scene in Singapore and also contemporary art in recent years. many speaks to the futility of art and that it's nothing more than a piece of thing for someone to enjoy. speaking to which i am not just mentioning visual arts but even music, literature, dance, etc. amazing how a simple piece of artwork has such deep intentions and meaning attached to it.

The arts encompasses visual arts, performing arts, language arts, culinary arts, and physical arts.

with greater exposure to more forms of art, i can surely say one tends to get sucked into this ambiguous yet mysteriously interesting field of study. the nature of the various disciplines especially music and dance seems more approachable, but looking deeper into the others, they are all rather applicable, depicting that of life in a way one cannot usually seem to express. nevertheless most if not all of them are enjoyable, pleasant to one's senses.

although recent contemporary artists are pushing things to their extremities, i personally believe that it is the underlying messages that is the essence to it all. however i do not consent to their gruesome and disgusting feats they go to to establish all that. guess it's hard to draw the line but they should consider the repercussions of doing so.

fact is am fad up with all the thoughts that are going through my mind.
guess everyone faces some issue in their lives every now and then.
everyone hurts but not everyone gives up...
i know i learn something through every fall and trials
but isn't there a easier way to learn???
hmmmm... i wonder...
bad thing about me is i usually forget my mistake and repeat them
need to start learning from them instead of repeating them

that means its fathers' day but my dad not in town so postponed to next sun :P

woah... been a busy busy busy past 3 days, but it was well worth it

have been developing a habit of ranting to myself by saving drafts on my phone whenever i feel like. so here goes certain stuff i complained/ ranted/ whined/ mopped/ thought of... more of a reflection of my inner self bah :P

Chapter 19
Your Place in God's Band
At Work or at Odds?
Here a dinner was given in Jesus' honor. Martha served, while Lazarus was among those reclining at the table with him. Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. John 12:2-3

Get the idea? The operative word is need. They need each other.
By themselves they make music. But together, they make magic.
Now, what I saw two decades ago in the band, I see today in the church. We need each other. Not all of us play the same instrument. Some believers are lofty, and others are solid. Some keep the pace while others lead the band. Not all of us make the same sound. Some are soft, and others are loud. And not all of us have the same ability. Some need to be on the fifty yard line raising the flag. Others need to be in the background playing backup. But each of us has a place.

Some play the drums (like Martha).
Some play the flute (like Mary).
And others sound the trumpet (like Lazarus).

Mary, Martha and Lazarus were like family to Jesus. After the Lord raised Lazarus from the dead, they decided to give a dinner for Jesus. They decided to honor him by having a party on his behalf (see John 12:2).

They didn't argue over the best seat. They didn't resent each other's abilities. They didn't try to outdo each other. All three worked together with one purpose. But each one fulfilled that purpose in his or her own unique manner. Martha served; she always kept everyone in step. Mary worshiped; she annoited her Lord with an extravagant gift, and its aroma filled the air. Lazarus had a story to tell, and he was ready to tell it.

Three people, each one with a different skill, a different ability. But each one of equal value. Think about it. Could their family have done without one of the three?

Could we do without one of the three today?

Paraphrased from the book:

Martha:
you don't appreciate Marthas until a Martha is missing

don't seek the spotlight, don't live off applause. that's not to say they don't need it. they just aren't addicted to it.
have a mission
weakness- tendency to elevate the mission over the Master (see Luke 10:40-42).
Mary:
playing her flute for Jesus
worships, that is what she loves to do
brings a pint of very expensive perfume and pours it on Jesus' feet, then wipes his feet with her hair.
the smell of perfume fills the house, just like the sound of praise can fill a church.
gifted with praise
don't just sing, simply attend church, just talk about Christ; they worship, go to offer praise, and radiate Christ.
ask them to pray for you
need them because we tend to forget how much God loves worship. Marys don't forget.
weakness: not easy for them to come to earth (see Luke 6:46)
Marys need to remember that service is worship.
Marthas need to remember that worship is service.
And Lazarus? He needs to remember that not everyone can play the trumpet.

Lazarus:
did nothing at the dinner. he saved his actions for outside the house. (see John 12:9)
has a testimony to give
because of Lazarus many Jews were "believing in Jesus"
God gave Martha a bass drum of service. God gave Mary a flute for praise. And God gave Lazarus a trumpet. And he stood on center stage and played it.

Some convert the lost. Some encourage the saved. And some keep the movements in step. All are needed.

If God has called you to be a Martha, then serve! Remind the rest of us that there is evangelism in feeding the poor and there is worship in nursing the sick.
If God has called you to be a Mary, then worship! Remind the rest of us that we don't have to be busy to be holy. Urge us with your example to put down our clipboards and megaphones and be quiet in worship.
If God has called you to be a Lazarus, then testify. Remind the rest of us that we,too, have a story to tell. We, too, have neighbors who are lost. We, too, have died and been resurrected.

Each of us has our place at the table.

Except one. There was one at Martha's house who didn't find his place. Though he has been near Jesus longer than any of the others, he was furthest in his faith. His name was Judas. He was a thief. (see John 12:6)

What a sad ending to a beautiful story. But what an appropriate ending. For in every church there are those like Martha who take time to serve. There are those like Mary who take time to worship. There are those like Lazarus who take time to testify.
And there are those like Judas who take, take, take, and never give in return. Are you a Judas? I ask the question carefully, yet honestly. Are you near Christ but far from his heart? Are you at the dinner with a sour soul? Are you always criticizing the gifts of others yet seldom, if ever, giving your own? Are you benefitting from the church while never giving to it? Do others give sacrificially while you give miserly? Are you a Judas?
Do you take, take, take, and never give? If so you are the Judas in this story.

If you are a Martha, be strengthened. God sees your service.
If you are a Mary, be encouraged. God receives your worship.
If you are a Lazarus, be strong. God honors your conviction.
But if you are a Judas, be warned. God sees your selfishness.

Love this chapter loads. Learned and benefited a lot from this few pages, so here to share with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Reflect upon thyself which character do you share with the most. Reflect and ponder. Think it through; take some time, don't rush through.

For myself; am more of a Martha I guess. Love the part where it says "Marthas don't seek the spotlight, don't live off applause. That's not to say they don't need it. They just aren't addicted to it." Hahas. So Marthas do need applause sometimes!!! :P
